Samsung ML-2010 Laser Printer Drivers and Software
The Samsung ML-2010 is one of the few but growing personal monochrome lasers designed to take the place of an inkjet. Measuring 8.5 x 14.1 x 11.8 inches (HWD) and 12.1 pounds, it can sit unobtrusively on your desk, but with a 22ppm laser engine inside, it’s ready to produce laser-quality pages pump out at laser speed.
The physical setup is typical for a low-cost laser: install the toner cartridge, load the paper, and connect the power cord and USB cable. Software installation is even easier than most, with a nifty automated routine that requires just a single mouse click.
The Samsung ML-2010’s print speeds are average for a small office laser. Waiting for the first page slowed overall text printing speeds, but the PC World Test Center produced good graphics speeds in our tests.
Samsung prices its 3,000-page replacement toner cartridges at $80 per cartridge, which works out to a per-page price of 2.7 cents. That’s about average for a small office printer. The printer comes with a starter cartridge, but it only produces 1000 pages.
Quality
The Samsung 2010’s text, printed at the default 600 dpi setting, had sharp edges and was readable even at 2 points.
