Samsung ML-4551ND Laser Printer Drivers and Software

The Samsung ML-4551ND monochrome laser printer has a 500-sheet front paper cassette and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray. Samsung quotes the ML-4551ND laser printer’s monthly duty cycle as a maximum of 200,000 pages, so it can definitely handle large volumes over a longer period of time.

USB, Ethernet and parallel connections are offered on the back panel, which also opens to reveal the printer’s mainboard. The ML-4551ND’s retail configuration has 128MB of memory, although this is user upgradeable to a maximum of 512MB. Automatic duplexing is included so you can print double-sided to reduce paper usage.

The monochrome laser printer Samsung ML-4551ND is quite easy to control both directly and via a network. Five buttons and a monochrome LCD on the printer itself let you change settings like duplex and layout, graphics resolution, network options, and even emulated printing languages. Unfortunately, while you can change the static IP address, you will need to print a network configuration report when determining the printer’s DHCP-assigned address.

Text documents are clear and accurate, without aberrations. Although the ML-4551ND lacks the line density or halftoning capabilities of some HP monochrome laser printers, it can produce text suitable for professional presentation documents. Monochrome graphics are also highly detailed, although the printer’s 1200 dpi resolution lacks the fine grain needed for consistent blacks.

Automatic duplexing and a comprehensive menu system complement fast print speeds and fantastic document quality. There are better text printers, but considering its price, the Samsung ML-4551ND offers excellent value for money.
