Setup is easy with a combination drum and toner cartridge mounted under the hood of the machine. Samsung follows the shameful practice of other printer manufacturers of shoving a half-empty starter cartridge into the box. Full-capacity replacement cartridges are rated for 2,000 pages and cost $70. The SCX’s monthly duty cycle is 5,000 pages in inkjet caliber.

The connection options are also simple: the device has a USB port. While we weren’t expecting an Ethernet adapter in this price range, the lack of an adapter disqualifies the Samsung for small office sharing.
