It also offers Wi-Fi Direct, which allows you to print from your computer, tablet or smartphone without the printer being connected to your network. You simply establish a wireless ad hoc connection. This is particularly useful for guests who want to print a document or two without joining your network, and for printing from mobile devices when the printer is connected to your Mac or PC via USB.

Quality Inspection

When it comes to quality, the Samsung Xpress SL-M2875DW does not disappoint. Text output is very good, with crystal clear outlines, no bleeding and excellent consistency. Maybe it could be a little darker, but it’s perfectly readable even at the lowest point sizes. As expected, the image reproduction is not as good.

A printout of a photo test card (in black and white, of course) was a little banded. Printing a PDF flyer with a mix of text and graphics proved more successful. The images were still tightly banded, but the text was clear and its quality didn’t suffer even when white was printed on color.

Speed ​​Test

As you can tell from the name ‘Multifunction Xpress’, this device is anything but slow. Our 20-page text-only test document printed in just 55 seconds, an excellent speed for a home and small office laser printer.

The scan quality is pretty good. We’ve seen sharper 300dpi scans, but colors are bright (albeit a little too bright) and black areas are pure without being speckled or washed out. It’s not quite as good as a photocopier. Our test version of a title was too dark, but scanning first and then printing gives you better results, and copying text is fine. After all, the build quality cannot be compromised. It’s sturdy enough to knock in all but the busiest offices.
