Samsung CLX-3170FW Color Laser Multifunction Printer Driver and Software

The Samsung CLX-3170FW measures 16.3″ x 14.7″ x 13.5″ and weighs 33.5 lbs. This is the case among most industrial and professional laser printers. Due to its small footprint, the printer can easily fit on a desk next to other devices and can just as easily, if not unnecessarily, be placed on a counter or its own table.

The Samsung CLX-3170FW produces documents at a speed of 16 pages per minute in black and 4 pages per minute in color. The first pages print in 14 seconds when printing in black and 26 seconds when printing in color. Documents are printed with a maximum resolution of 2400 x 600 dpi.

The printer has an input capacity of 150 pages (standard) and an output input capacity of 100 sheets, as well as the ability to print on cards, transparencies, stickers, glossy photo paper, envelopes and matte photo paper.

The CLX-3170FW has a monochrome LCD that can be used to configure settings.

The included scanner can function as either a flatbed or sheet-fed scanner and processes A4 documents. It offers scanning at an optical resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi or an extended resolution of 4800 x 4800 dpi, a zoom range between 25% and 400% moving in 1% increments and supports TWAIN and WIA.

The included copier produces 600 x 600 dpi copies in black and color and offers a maximum number of 99 copies at a time. It also offers scan to USB and scan to email if required.

The included fax system can store up to 320 pages. It includes a 33.6 kbit/s modem, color fax support, and a maximum resolution of 300 x 160, which is unusual among other fax machines.

The printer has a USB 2.0 port, but no cable is included with the printer. Therefore, one must be purchased before it can be used. Ethernet support can be added if required or purchased in a base model of the Samsung CLX-3170FW.
