The Samsung ProXpress SL-M3820ND is a pretty simple device. It does what it does to the expected level and doesn’t falter. At the same time, however, this device does not stand out in anything. No matter what feature you use on this machine, you can expect it to span the wall of the mediocre square in the middle. The Samsung M3820ND is essentially a monochrome laser printer that is best suited for micro to small businesses with low to medium print volumes.

The main weakness of the Samsung M3820ND is something that most low budget monochrome laser printer owners struggle with, i.e. H. With less than excellent print quality. While this device is designed for a maximum print resolution of 1200 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) and uses ReCP (Rendering Engine for Clean Page) technology, the output quality is nowhere near that of higher-end devices.

In practice, you can expect the M3820ND to deliver average print output quality. This means that the text quality is more than sufficient for professional use, while the graphics and image quality should only be considered for internal office use. Operating costs should also be taken into account by potential buyers, although they should not be a significant factor in their decision-making process.

The Samsung M3820ND costs a business about 3.03 cents per page if the business were to use original cartridges manufactured by the OEM. However, the same company would have the opportunity to save about 1 cent per page by using generic cartridges. The cost per page with generic cartridges for this printer is in the region of 2 cents.

For the paper capacity and features that the Samsung M3820ND offers, it is a fairly compact device. Its width and height are equal at around 365mm while its height is less at 261.5mm. These dimensions give the Samsung M3820ND a large footprint, but don’t prevent it from being stored on a desk. The weight of the device gives you a break. The M3820ND weighs 12.2kg, which means you’ll want to ensure you have a sturdy desk at work and perhaps even two people to place the device on.

The Samsung M3820ND’s processing speed isn’t all that bad, especially if you want to increase the standard storage. The standard variant of this device comes with 128MB of storage, but you can use up to 512MB if you wish. We don’t need to tell the techie in you that 512MB of memory performs much better with the Cortex™ A5 core processor. This processing power means you can print in less than 6.5 seconds for the first time.
