Samsung ProXpress SL-M3820DW Laser Printer Driver and Software
The Samsung ProXpress SL-M3820DW is a pretty simple device. It does what it does to the expected level and doesn’t falter. At the same time, however, this device does not stand out in anything. No matter what feature you use on this machine, you can expect it to span the wall of the mediocre square in the middle. The Samsung M3820DW is essentially a monochrome laser printer that is best suited for micro to small businesses with low to medium print volumes.
At the same time, this machine is scalable. For example, a company can move from low to medium print volume requirements to a relatively higher level by selecting optional components and leveraging the inherent capacity of the press. Additionally, the device has a number of features that help business owners better control their company’s printing costs.
Strengths of Samsung M3820DW
The reason scalability with the Samsung ProXpress SL-M3820DW shouldn’t be an issue for all but the fastest growing companies is this device’s paper capacity. The standard version of the M3820DW has a total paper capacity of 300 sheets, which can be split between a 250-sheet paper tray and a 50-sheet multi-purpose tray.
These 300 sheets should be more than enough for most micro and small businesses. However, if your business grows quickly in the future, you can quickly increase the paper capacity of this printer to 770 sheets. This is made possible by a 520-sheet additional paper tray. The Samsung M3820DW’s print speed and monthly duty cycle complement its paper capacity. The device can print at 38 pages per minute (ppm), while its monthly duty cycle is 80,000 pages.
The Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) not only focuses on making its printer scalable for growing businesses, but has also integrated some very useful modern features into the device. The most important of these is the wireless connectivity feature and Wi-Fi Direct. Wireless connectivity means the printer can connect directly to your office’s network, while Wi-Fi Direct means you can print content from your mobile devices. In addition to connecting to the printer wirelessly, you can also use traditional methods such as USB 2.0 and Ethernet.
Additionally, the Samsung ProXpress SL-M3820DW supports mobile features by being compatible with Google Cloud Print, Air Print and Samsung Mobile Print. In addition, the automatic duplex function, which allows users to print double-sided, has been added to the device’s functional repertoire. The reason this feature is beneficial is that it can help with cost-cutting efforts as the company saves money on paper supplies.
The Samsung M3820DW’s processing speed isn’t all that bad, especially if you want to increase the standard storage. The standard variant of this device comes with 128MB of storage, but you can use up to 512MB if you wish. We don’t need to tell the techie in you that 512MB of memory performs much better with the Cortex™ A5 core processor. This processing power means you can print in less than 6.5 seconds for the first time.
Surprisingly, the Samsung M3820DW also offers some security features. This is done using the Samsung SyncThru™ Admin Job Accounting feature. The SyncThru™ Admin is a centralized print usage control module that gives you enterprise-level security options. With this admin, you can divide your workforce into different groups and even monitor their usage or set controls.

The Samsung ProXpress SL-M3820DW’s control panel features a simple 2-line LCD screen, which should be enough to keep you updated on how to handle the device at any given time. However, with SyncThru™ Admin you get better control.
